Another excellent series, Paul. For reasons I've never quite fathomed, Ennerdale is one corner of the Lakes that I rarely visited. Having seen your set, that's something I'd like to rectify next time I'm up there. Mind you, I'm going to leave it until those "fever flies" are on holiday. I have a midge-net / hat (bought for when I was living in Scotland) but the buggers still manage to be a pain.
Horrible things: but not as bad as horse flies; nor knowing that Pillar is pretty much as close to my home as Sellafield is. (But then I could moan about this for years; and it was me that chose to live here.)
Some absolutely wonderful shots, as always: and I love the gate one, despite the plethora of flies. You may not have been overly inspired: but it doesn’t show… – so thank you.
is it me or the edge of the fly and the route on the map have look alike shape?
Wtf! So they do. Freaky
🤣🤣🤣

Yes to your images — no to those flies!!
The third shot is my favorite! All of them are lovely. Albeit, with flies. I did see them. That's a lot of love for that hike!
