you illustrated the valley beautifully. as for the medium, i'm using both - film and digital and in my defence i'm a bit opposite to you: i'm done with clients in digital so i'm using film just for myself, for my own pleasure
And why not! You never now, I may drift back one day. I think I still have nightmares about getting about four rolls of medium format back from a pro lab in Newcastle that had all been scratched. It was a wedding. I made my mind up very shortly afterwards that digital was the way. Totally get the pleasure bit though!
Thanks Linda. It’s a gorgeous little valley. I’m sure you will enjoy it. Parking at Kentmere Village is free at the church but limited. There is a field before the church where you can park for a small fee but sometimes that is closed. Go early!
Love the expression here. Confidently reaching for what makes us happy to produce is what it's all about. Some days I'm all digital, other days all film, but it's the creating that makes me happy. And I know so deeply the cumbersome process you're talking about, haha. Made me think to myself, it really could all be much easier, no... but that Nikon F2as is special to me. No way around that.
Paul, I was so curious. What is the new camera!? ^^ Congratulations~
Way back in 2011, I started buy mju for $1-2 at boot sales in the states. I sold them on a few years later when the price started to climb. Wish I had gathered more, and held on longer. ^^
I had an F2 at one point. That’s a proper camera. I loved it. It joins a long list of cameras I now regret selling when I did. I sold a Nikon, A Canon, a full Bronica 6x6 kit and and a Mamiya. Got peanuts compared to what they go for now. You couldn’t give them away at one point. So I get the f2 love!
New camera is a Fuji XT-5 and it has an XF 10 to 24 f4 on it. Only had it a couple of weeks but it is rapidly becoming an all time favourite. I love it.
And 100% on board with the “it’s the creating that makes me happy” thing.
Funny. We aren't that far off here as I'm shooting the Nikon F2as with 24 f2, and D700 at 35. Prices are wild aren't it? I was just complaining about not picking up an X100F three or four years ago when they were a couple hundred dollars.
XT5 is a great camera. I don't have a Fuji these days, and I do miss the minimized workflow. Nothing better than hearing you're loving it. I'll look forward to seeing more shots from you, then!

Beautiful images. I am looking for somewhere different to walk in a couple of weeks time. I have added this to my list!

Thank you!
Thank you for the mention, Paul! What a beautiful place you have close by. Film or digital it doesn't really matter - you photographed it well!
Thank you Susanne!

It’s mad. Especially Mamiya. I weep openly when I think how much I sold mine for and what they go for now.
