Lost and Found
A clear out of a drawer reveals a valuable find
I have drawers that terrify me. My wife refers to them as my ‘I’ll just put it there for now’ places. It’s a trait, and one I have major issues resolving. Until I met my wife, my photography business accounting system involved opening one of these drawers and throwing in a receipt and closing the drawer as fast as I could. This method proved highly effective in terms of my not having to do any maths or number crunching whatsoever. Then it would all come tumbling down when my annual tax return was due, at which point I would empty the now bulging contents onto the floor and then roll around screaming and sobbing at the sheer hell of trying to make any sense of the chaos. The happiest day of my life was the day we were married. The second was the day she offered to do my accounts.
ADHD can result frequently in such chaotic solutions to storage and organisation. ‘Floordrobes’ are very common. When it comes to camera equipment and associated sundries, I tend to be able to keep on top of the whirlwind. There are odd occasions though when items fall through the gaps. I then go into meltdown trying to find them. So to combat this, every now and again I tackle a drawer head on and try and get it into some sort of order. I usually fanny around for a few hours before eventually putting everything back bar a biro that has ran out.
Today though, I found a little gold nugget. A long lost SD card that I spent literally days searching for early last year. It had been used at the back end of a snowy walk in Matterdale but was a little on the slow side and glitched out a few times, so I swapped it for another card and then forgot all about it. It only has a handful of shots on it, but I am now firmly of the belief that I should clear out drawers more often. There are a couple on there that I am quite partial to.

So glad you found these and shared. I love that first one especially.
Floordrobes - I like that. Accurate and very descriptive and I usually have at least one. As for 'those' drawers, that's pretty much standard in our house. Now and again we get organised, only for it to descend into chaos, seemingly over night if not sooner. My shed's no better. I have these fantasies of an organised, useable bench, with drawers/racks of tools, materials neatly stood/stacked/shelved. Alas, they'll never be more than fantasies. The actual shed is an absolute chaotic nightmare. So times, when I've been knocking/tripping over piles of random stuff, I just lose the plot and walk out, blanking the whole debacle from my reeling mind...🤯
....anyway, I'm glad you found the card - some beautiful shots! Thanks for sharing😃
